Media Literacy for Athletes
A programme for athletes on managing social media responsibly, handling press attention, protecting their reputation, and presenting themselves professionally in public contexts. Designed for academies, clubs, and national youth programmes.
Young athletes face media scrutiny before they have any training to handle it. A poorly judged social media post, an ill-prepared interview, a comment made without thinking — any of these can cause lasting damage to a career still being built. This programme addresses media literacy from the ground up: what journalists are looking for, how interviews work, what social media can and cannot do for an athlete's public image, and how to build a professional presence that serves the athlete's long-term interests. Delivered as group workshops, adaptable to academy, club, or federation contexts.
