Sports Commentary Workshop
A structured programme for journalism and sports communication students. Covers live narration technique, commentary structure, voice and delivery, and practical exercises with real game footage.
Commentary is one of the hardest skills in sports media to learn, and almost nobody teaches it systematically. This workshop does. It covers the fundamentals of live narration — voice, rhythm, vocabulary, real-time decision-making — alongside the specific craft of sports commentary: how to read a game while talking about it, how to structure a commentary that builds rather than just describes, how to handle silence, and how to use technical knowledge without losing a general audience. Exercises use real game footage. Participants record and receive written feedback on their work.
